Gloucester Center for the Arts (GloArts) is a new vision for a multidisciplinary arts center based in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Our mission is to celebrate and strengthen the creative community of Gloucester by supporting professional artists, providing multidisciplinary arts education and programs, and investing in affordable creative spaces.
This collaborative, grassroots organization was founded by a coalition of discipline-specific organizations on Cape Ann run by professional Gloucester-based artists. The founding GloArts partners are:
- Movement Arts, Gloucester, MA (MAGMA) led by Sarah Swift
- Lanes Coven Theater Co. led by Lily Narbonne and Justin Genna
- Alexandra Grace Music Studio led by Alexandra Grace and Jaden Chris
- Hearth Art Studios led by Miranda Aisling
- Brassfed Nation led by Carlos Menezes Jr.
Together, these organizations represent the next generation of Gloucester artists in dance, theater, music, and visual art.
In early 2025, we decided to combine our efforts and address the biggest barrier to making art on Cape Ann: the cost of space. We are currently in discussion with building owners across Gloucester to find a space to rent together.
Our combined experience as professional interdisciplinary artists, art educators, and art administrators make us uniquely positioned to develop a sustainable center for contemporary art in downtown Gloucester. We hope you will help us make this happen!
